What Remains
The second LP from
John Haycock
ft Dan Bridgwood-Hill
Originally composed in 2023, the composition creates a heartfelt conjunction between acoustic, processed and environmental elements, deeply rooted in the land and lore of the Calder Valley.
The recording has been ‘Worldized’ in the Todmorden Unitarian Church, a term coined by Walter Murch meaning to replay a recording in a real world setting and re-record it in order to capture the natural reverberation and acoustic architecture of live spaces, enriching the final result with all that is contained and stored within these inspiring locations.
Together with Jamie House, we created a symbolic sleeve. It incorporates the ritualistic narrative of the album, using refractions of light, captured in the space that created the sound.
‘What Remains’ identity & touring poster
Imagery based composition that includes the rose window of the enigmatic, Unitarian Church, Todmorden.
The visual fuses the grain and saturation of light in the space, together with art direction and typographic styling, where the tour embodies the ethereal narrative.
